A couple of weeks ago I wrote about getting rid of the borderline junk mail that lays in wait for you each time you turn on your phone or computer. Later that week a guy sent me an email and asked to be removed from my list. That was pretty funny. But I got it.
Today I’m ruthlessly deleting email that does not immediately catch my attention or require a response. If your autoresponder arrived today, I didn’t read it. If your newsletter goes out on Monday, I deleted it.
I did take some time to read the blog updates that arrive in my RSS feed. That’s about it. And even then, if it wasn’t immediately interesting, I deleted it too.
Sometimes we just have to be ruthless about those things that clutter our daily lives. For me, today was one of those days. And do you know what? It felt pretty good. You have my permission to say no.
Just say “No”.
Is it just me? Or, do you feel the same way sometimes? I would love to hear your comments!

Hi Theresa,
I’m with you on this one for sure! I’m ruthless in my inbox most of the time but particularly on Mondays. Must be the worst day of the week to send an email!

Hi Deb — I know! As I wrote this, I was thinking that it’s not a good idea to send a promotional email (or otherwise) on a Monday! Wonder if I should stop posting to my blog on Monday? Hmmm. Probably not…
Thanks for your comment, it’s good to know I’m not alone. ~Theresa
