How much of the work are you doing in your business? Are you doing everything?
You cannot micromanage a business and expect it to thrive. You’ve got to know how to delegate and to create an environment where two or more people can work together towards a common goal.
Start thinking like an entrepreneur.
Get a team. Surround yourself with talent and get out of their way.
Set challenging goals.
Don’t underestimate the ability of your team.
Create an environment where motivation can thrive.
Be open to all ideas and strategies.
Collaboration is about achieving something that you would not be able to achieve on your own. Like growing your business. This gets easier with practice. Thinking like an entrepreneur gets easier with practice.
Do you see opportunities around you where you can act collaboratively? What are they? I’d love to hear your ideas.

Hi Theresa,
Thanks for the reminder that we cannot be lone rangers in our business and that team is critical to our success. I find it difficult to delegate sometimes especially when it’s a task I know how to do and do well
Your post is a great reminder to me to step aside from the little daily jobs, and assign them to someone else, so that I can focus on building my business!
You’ve really inspired to me think collaboratively… especially with my assistant. I think sometimes that I underestimate her talents (thinking I’m the only one who can get something done right – lol). I’ll start today by giving her more challenging goals and by giving her an opportunity to stretch beyond assigned tasks.
Thank you – this has been really helpful.

Hi Miranda,
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad I inspired you to think in terms of collaboration! I know what you mean about wanting to do the work yourself… we’ve been having a lot of discussions around here about bringing other people into our team. And, more importantly, how we can challenge them and create opportunities to motivate everyone.
Thanks for stopping by, and for sharing your ideas!
Theresa
