Three Boys and Their Father — A Profound Story For Honest Introspection

by Theresa Bradley-Banta on June 30, 2010 · 0 comments

I just heard a story that was so sad I wanted to forget it. I wished I hadn’t heard it.

Yet it had such an impact on me I couldn’t quit thinking about it.

It was a story about a father with three sons. The father’s biggest goal and desire in life was to put those three boys through college. In order to achieve this dream he worked 3 jobs.

Unintentionally, he was so rarely home that the boys had virtually no contact with him as they were growing up. Two boys ended up in prison and the third kid disappeared.

In his desire to create a wonderful future for his sons, the father inadvertently created a life for himself and his sons that was gravely out of balance.

When you think about success does your mind turn to money and career?

So many things determine whether we are rich or not.

It’s so important to take the time to think about what is real and worthwhile for us and to be less driven by what the world says our lives ought to be.
