Today we’re going to talk about finding your “Why”.
This is not be confused with your “What”. Those are things like making lots of money or taking your dream trip.
The yellers & the tellers as my husband calls them, love to preach about finding your passion… your “why”. It’s the key to success.
Right, they’ve got the concept… and they’re going to tell you all about it. You might even be inspired for a little while.
But, after the buzz wears off, you’re left scratching your head and saying, that’s great so how do I apply it to my life?
I posted a link yesterday to a really good video – and you should watch it.
But, after posting the link something happened to me.
I realized that all of these guys, the yellers and tellers, preach the importance of discovering your “why” – they’ll even give you an exercise to sit down and write it on a card that you will carry for the rest of your life – but, they fail to adequately describe what a “why” is.
So, let’s make it really simple.
It starts with having a sense of purpose. Here’s a short list and I would love to hear your ideas:
Inspire others.
Live a life of compassion.
Build or invent something that makes life easier for others.
Be the very best in something.
Do something that brings tears to your eyes.
Change the world.
Affect lots of people.
Empower others.
Level the playing field.
Realize or spread joy and happiness.
Teach.
Mentor.
Explore new ways of self-expression – let loose your creativity.
Connect with hidden talents.
Put a smile on your face.
Put a smile on someone else’s face.
Discover confidence and lack of fear. Teach others to do the same.
Feed the hungry.
Do something you would regret never having done.
Express your values.
What can you do differently today that would give you a sense of purpose in your life? I write this blog to inspire others. Do you have an inspiring story? I would love to hear it. Our readers would love to hear it. Do you have ideas on finding your “why”? What does this mean to you? Please share in the comments below.
