Where Every Job Is a Reference

I was sitting at a red light this morning doing what I always do at a red light. I was reading bumper stickers, billboards, signs, trying to figure out the vanity license plate in front of me, you know… totally bored, waiting for the light to change. Then I looked at the van sitting beside me.

It was a work van with the tag line, “Where every job is a reference”, printed in large letters on the side panel.

I thought about this for the rest of my drive. What a great line and what a commitment — every job is completed so well that each client of this company is a reference.

These guys are saying that they when they do something you can count on it being done right.

I’d also just read an article titled “Be Your Word”, in other words, know your actions match your words.

I can’t help but feel this is kind of the message of the day.

Steve Jobs says, and it’s a quote I’ve mentioned before,

“If you are not committed to delivering results that are profound, dramatic and superior – NEVER COMPETE!”

And here’s a quote from Tom Peters – a little on the blunt side – from my notable and quotable file:

“The best kept secret in the global economy today is this: When your service is AWESOME you get so stinking rich you have to buy new bags to carry all the money home.”

Hope these guys in the van keep their word and deliver jobs that keep earning them references all day long.

What do you think?
