“It was meant to be — things happen for a reason.”
Do you agree with this statement?
I don’t. Not always.
I believe there are many potential outcomes to just about everything we do and that we create those outcomes, especially when we stop waiting for someone to make things happen.
We were given the ability to create.
Napoleon Hill said, “To think is to create.” OK… I’m not sure that’s an actual quote, but he did say, “It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine.”
And he’s right.
I was talking about the idea for this article with one of my mastermind groups this morning.
(You know, masterminding is a beautiful thing. If you don’t do it you should definitely try it.)
Towards the end of our call we came back to the idea of this article.
I mentioned I was reluctant to go too far down the “creation” path because of the potential for raising a controversy about God, man/woman, creation, etc., when I was only trying to make a simple point.
The point being that when people say, “whatever happens was meant to be”, they are usually making an excuse for inaction. Seems to me like it is a flat out admission of giving up before they even begin.
Kind of like coming up with a great alibi, isn’t it?
On the God issue – one of my group members pointed out that,
“God can’t steer a parked car” — we are given creativity and we are expected to use it.
When we, by choice, create an idea through our imagination and always bring our “A game” to whatever we do, we will attract what we need. Guaranteed.
Napoleon Hill also wrote,
“Strange and varied are the ways of life, and stranger still are the ways of Infinite Intelligence, through which men are sometimes forced to undergo all sorts of punishment before discovering their own brains, and their own capacity to create useful ideas through imagination.”
Take a minute and think about this one!
